Nerea is a Art Nouveau modern typeface with regular weight. My aim was to create a very elegant and naturalist typeface with some unique letterforms based in the curves of the nature - curves vs. strong straight lines - thin hairlines vs. thick stems - ball terminals vs. geometric serifs. These caracteristics shape it into a glamourous display or text font primarily used for titles and large typography settings. Nerea has the personality of a sensual woman, feminine and delicate. It has an extensive glyph set that supports languages for the Americas and most of Europe.

Story
Nature is the queen in the Art Nouveau and it highlights the organic intertwined forms, plant motifs, the curved line and sensuality. The shapes are sinuous, floral and innovative, and from that understanding comes this new typographic project.
Nerea is the result of “Tipografía III” subject of “Estudios Superiores de Diseño Gráfico” at Escuela de Arte de Granada. The design process began in December 2013 and ended in June 2014. However, it is only the beginning, because much remains to be done to this family. Nerea is a typeface inspired by Art Nouveau, whose design is based on organic and stylized forms, that convey delicacy and fluidity. Typography is well constructed with feminine character with decorative applications where flowing format with grace and reinforcing the property with a large set of ligatures. These characteristics of Art Nouveau are reflected in this typographic project and personality of women is also evident in the name of this new typography, Nerea.
Historia
La naturaleza es la reina en el Art Nouveau y en él destacan las formas orgánicas entrelazadas, los motivos vegetales, la línea curva y la sensualidad. Las formas son sinuosas, florales e innovadoras, Y a partir de esa concepción surge este nuevo proyecto tipográfico.
Nerea es fruto de la asignatura Tipografía III de los Estudios Superiores de Diseño en la Escuela de Arte de Granada. El proceso de diseño comenzó en Diciembre de 2013 y terminó en Junio de 2014. Sin embargo, es solo el comienzo, pues aún queda mucho camino por recorrer para esta familia. Nerea es una tipografía inspirada en el Art Nouveau, cuyo diseño se basa en formas orgánicas y estilizadas, que transmiten delicadeza y fluidez. Se construye así una tipografía con carácter femenino para aplicaciones decorativas, donde fluye por el formato con su gracia y reforzándose dicha propiedad con un amplio conjunto de ligaduras. Estas características del Art Nouveau quedan reflejadas en este proyecto tipográfico y su personalidad de mujer se manifiesta igualmente en el nombre de esta nueva tipografía, Nerea.
